Gran Canaria beaches are golden – and blue.
It’s official, the beaches in Gran Canaria are clean, gorgeous, and family friendly. The latest Blue Flag awards for the cleanest beaches in Europe, has dished out 7 of the prestigious awards, spread around the island.
The European Federation of Environmental Education (FEE) are experts on the matter and have thousands of beaches in 100’s of countries to choose from. They consider the quality of the sand, the attention to regular cleaning, and the general upkeep of the beach areas before making their decision.
So take a bow Gran Canaria, here are the cream of a very large crop. In Las Palmas – Las Canteras and La Laja, Telde – Melenera, San Bartolome de Tirajana – El Ingles, San Agustin – Maspalomas, Mogan – Amadores and Playa de Mogan.
Add the all year round climate and friendly local people, and you can see why Gran Canaria is such a popular place to visit, and to set up home.
