At the station "San Telmo" in Las Palmas you should get out to see the oldtown. One station further at "Santa Catalina" you are very close to the Canteras Beach which is also wonderful! Anyway also Taxis are very cheap in Las Palmas! the fastest bus from Maspalomas to Las Palmas is the nr. 50, but also nr. 30 is ok.
