San Fernando is just inland from Playa del Inglés resort on the inland side of the GC 500 road. It shares the Avenida de Tirajana with Playa del Inglés. San Fernando is a sunny town which has seen considerable development in recent years and now has a modern shopping area and a growing number of quality local restaurants.
San Fernando’s history started in the 18th Century as a small settlement around the original manor house called the Casa Condal. It started to grow into a modern town from the 1960s when tourism began to boom in south Gran Canaria.
